Deck overview

Kellan, the Kid rewards casting spells from exile, the graveyard, or other nonhand zones by placing a permanent from hand onto the battlefield for free. The deck supports this with foretell, plot, suspend, adventures, flashback, graveyard access, and several cards that cast from the top of the library. Its ordinary line is to deploy Kellan, the Kid, cast a plotted or foretold spell, and cheat in a value permanent such as Rashmi, Eternities Crafter, Vega, the Watcher, or Outcaster Trailblazer. The result is strong midgame value, but access is not compact and the deck has no deterministic kill or total lock. Large threats such as Mind's Dilation, One with the Multiverse, and Apex Devastator can take over an unanswered game, while Farewell and Cyclonic Rift reset opposing boards. The main weaknesses are commander dependence, high average mana values, limited tutoring, and the lack of a reliable finishing sequence.
