Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet Spellslinger Combo-Control deck piloted by Niv-Mizzet, Parun. The strategy centers on resolving its commander, which cannot be countered, and converting every instant, sorcery, and card draw into repeatable damage and card advantage. The primary win condition is the iconic two-card infinite combo with Curiosity, which triggers an uninterrupted chain of card draws and damage pings to burn out the table. In games where Curiosity is not immediately drawn, the deck pivots into a robust spellslinger burn and token engine utilizing payoffs such as Archmage Emeritus, Storm-Kiln Artist, Guttersnipe, and Talrand, Sky Summoner. Dense board wipes like Blasphemous Act and flexible counterspells provide resilient board control while the deck digs through its library. Because it avoids cEDH fast mana and noncreature tutors, the deck operates at a focused casual-to-high power level, offering interactive, spell-heavy gameplay that builds toward an explosive combo finish.
