Deck overview

This Izzet deck is commanded by Rootha, Mastering the Moment, focusing on converting high-mana-value instant and sorcery spells into massive flying, hasty Elemental creature tokens. Early turns establish a mana foundation using 2-mana artifacts and creature-based cost reducers like Thunderclap Drake and Ashling, Rekindled // Ashling, Rimebound. Once Rootha resolves on Turn 4, the deck leverages delve cards such as Dig Through Time and Temporal Trespass, along with explosive mana spells like Mana Geyser, to trigger Rootha's combat ability for double-digit power in the air. Complementary token engines including Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer, Manaform Hellkite, and Rionya, Fire Dancer widen the board, while Storm-Kiln Artist fuels sustained spellcasting. The deck closes games quickly through flying combat damage, extra turn spells, or an infinite combat loop with Breath of Fury. A solid interactive suite of bounce, exile, and countermagic defends the engine.
