Deck overview

This Simic deck is helmed by Ivy, Gleeful Spellthief, combining mutate synergies with single-target spell duplication. The game plan focuses on deploying cheap, evasive, or hexproof non-Human base creatures on early turns before casting Ivy. Whenever a mutate creature or targeted Aura is cast targeting a non-Human creature, Ivy's triggered ability copies the spell targeting herself, creating two independent, rapidly growing mutate piles. Mana ramp from Migratory Greathorn and card advantage from Curious Obsession, Combat Research, and Parcelbeast compound exponentially across both creatures. As the game develops, explosive mutate triggers like Auspicious Starrix, Archipelagore, and Sawtusk Demolisher overwhelm opposing boards with free permanents, permanent removal, and tap-down effects. The deck shields its board state with 1-mana protection spells that Ivy automatically duplicates, closing out games through massive, evasive combat damage.
