Whip It Real Good by Perezsp11

Format: Commander

Commander: Whiplash, Vengeful Engineer

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a mono-black Equipment Voltron deck built around Whiplash, Vengeful Engineer, a one-drop commander that enters tapped and drains each opponent for life equal to the number of Equipment attached whenever it attacks. The primary plan is to stack as many cheap Equipment as possible on Whiplash, then swing repeatedly, accumulating life loss across all opponents. The deck also supports alternative win conditions through devotion payoffs like Gray Merchant of Asphodel, life-drain doubling with Wound Reflection, and the one-shot kill from Vorpal Sword's activated ability. The mana base is heavily Swamp-focused, leveraging Cabal Coffers, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, and Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth for explosive mana. The strategy is slow and grindy, relying on repeated combat rather than combos, with a moderate recursion suite centered on The Soul Stone and Reanimate.
