Braids budget by Sir-Didymus-II

Format: Commander

Commander: Braids, Arisen Nightmare

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Braids, Arisen Nightmare leads a mono-black attrition deck that sacrifices permanents each end step to drain opponents and draw cards. The primary plan is an aristocrats engine: recur cheap creatures, stack death/drain payoffs, and convert Braids into a repeatable draw/damage trigger. Secondary paths include a Gray Merchant devotion burst, Syr Konrad graveyard-death damage, and token generation from Jadar/Ophiomancer/Dreadhorde Invasion. Without Braids, Ayara and Phyrexian Reclamation keep the grind alive, but the deck is clearly built around her end-step trigger. Syr Konrad, the Grim acts as a hidden secondary engine with his own milling and death triggers.
