Deck overview

This deck executes a Mardu Voltron Control strategy centered on Zurgo Helmsmasher. The game plan revolves around casting dense creature sweepers like Day of Judgment, Fumigate, and Vanquish the Horde to keep opposing boards clear. Because Zurgo possesses haste and is indestructible during your turn, he survives your own sweepers and immediately attacks into empty boards. The deck accelerates his lethality using double-strike enablers such as Duelist's Heritage, Fireshrieker, and Blacksmith's Talent, putting each opponent on a rapid two-hit commander damage clock.
