Deck overview

This Orzhov aristocrats/drain deck, helmed by Teysa, Opulent Oligarch, aims to grind opponents down through incremental life loss while generating value from Clues and Spirit tokens. The primary strategy revolves around triggering Teysa s end-step investigate ability by having multiple opponents lose life each turn, then sacrificing Clues for Spirit tokens (once per turn) and using those tokens for further drain effects like Zulaport Cutthroat and Nadier's Nightblade. The deck lacks explosive combos or tutors, relying on a slow, symmetrical engine of drain effects (Ayara, First of Locthwain, Blood Seeker, Campaign of Vengeance, etc.) and token generation (Anointed Procession, Thalisse, Reverent Medium). Finishers include Torment of Hailfire, Debt to the Deathless, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel with moderate devotion. The commander is a value piece but not essential; the deck can function at 80%+ capacity without her.
