Deck overview

Sephiroth, Fallen Hero leads an Equipment-focused Boros combat deck. The main plan is to develop mana, cast Sephiroth, attach an Equipment, and attack so a cell counter modifies a creature into a 7/5. Equipment such as Hero's Heirloom, Champion's Helm, Colossus Hammer, Fireshrieker, and Blade of Selves increase damage or improve combat access. Cloud, Midgar Mercenary is the best Equipment tutor, while Sram, Senior Edificer and Puresteel Paladin provide card flow. The deck has solid creature, artifact, and battlefield interaction, plus several ways to protect its commander. Its main weakness is that its five-mana commander and equip costs produce a slow clock. Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar and Aurelia, the Warleader broaden combat damage, but the list does not reliably assemble enough damage to defeat three players or create a total lockout.
