Deck overview

This deck uses a Gruul lands-matter strategy that ramps aggressively to cast Borborygmos Enraged. By utilizing land-drop accelerators like Exploration, Azusa, Lost but Seeking, and Dryad of the Ilysian Grove, the deck consistently establishes a large mana base by the mid-game. Once Borborygmos hits the battlefield, every land in hand turns into a repeatable, instant-speed Lightning Bolt that can clear opposing creatures or burn players directly. Powerful refill engines such as Creeping Renaissance, Life from the Loam, and Rishkar's Expertise quickly reload the hand with lands to burn out all three opponents. If the commander is unavailable, alternate win conditions like Field of the Dead, Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle combos with Scapeshift, and a 20/20 Dark Depths token provide potent independent threats. High land redundancy and durable land-based mana make the deck resilient against creature sweepers.
