Deck overview

This deck is a Bant flying tribal aggro list commanded by Derevi, Empyrial Tactician. The primary strategy focuses on deploying low-cost flying creatures, boosting them with static anthem effects like Empyrean Eagle and Anthem of Champions, and leveraging Derevi's combat-damage triggers to untap lands and maintain board tempo. The deck converts evasive attacks into sustained card flow through damage-triggered engines such as Coastal Piracy, Reconnaissance Mission, and Kastral, the Windcrested. While Derevi, Empyrial Tactician provides excellent resilience by repeatedly bypassing commander tax via its activated ability, the deck is constrained by a high density of tapped lands and an absence of dedicated tutors. It wins primarily through fair combat damage over multiple turn rotations, finishing around Turn 9 with cards like True Conviction or Murmuration.
