Deck overview

This Abzan deck, commanded by Betor, Ancestor's Voice, operates as an optimized lifegain synergy engine that easily converts life buffer advantages into a decisive combo finish. The early game focuses on deploying low-cost lifegain enablers like Soul Warden, Essence Warden, and Auriok Champion alongside efficient mana acceleration. Betor turns life total fluctuations into escalating +1/+1 counters and end-step creature reanimation directly from the graveyard. While the deck can apply heavy combat pressure using scaled threats such as Serra Ascendant, Voice of the Blessed, and Archangel of Thune, its primary route to victory is assembling the two-card infinite drain loop of Dina, Soul Steeper and Exquisite Blood. Versatile tutors streamline combo access, while premium protection spells like Teferi's Protection and Heroic Intervention safeguard key permanents. Backed by flexible removal and backup lines like Aetherflux Reservoir and Felidar Sovereign, the deck maintains consistent pressure and resilience.
