Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan combat-focused midrange deck centered around Doran, Besieged by Time. It aims to deploy cheap creatures with high toughness relative to their power, such as Tasseled Dromedary and Mandroid Squadron, and turn them into formidable attackers using Doran's triggered ability. Doran provides casting discounts to these disproportionate creatures and grants them a massive +X/+X bonus upon attacking. Mid-game enchantments like Garruk's Uprising and Thickest in the Thicket grant necessary trample and power boosts to prevent stalling against opposing blockers. Because the deck relies on fair combat damage without infinite combos or fast mana, its primary clock achieves lethal pressure around turn 6 and closes out the game over multiple subsequent attack phases. The deck features modest recursion and utility creatures to rebuild following board wipes, though it remains vulnerable to sweepers and targeted removal aimed at Doran.
