Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This mono-black deck is a high-powered life-paying combo/control machine piloted by K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth. K'rrik turns every black mana symbol into an optional life cost, dramatically accelerating the deck's mana curve and enabling explosive early turns. The primary game plan is to assemble one of several infinite life-drain combos - Sanguine Bond plus Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Bloodthirsty Conqueror, or Enduring Tenacity - or to use Aetherflux Reservoir with K'rrik's cheap spells to gain life and then snipe opponents. Secondary wins come from Exsanguinate pumped by huge mana (Cabal Coffers + Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx), Gray Merchant of Asphodel recursion, or a stormy Bolas's Citadel chain. The deck is dense with tutors (Demonic Tutor, Grim Tutor, Beseech the Mirror, Razaketh, the Foulblooded), rituals, and cheap recursion, giving it extreme consistency and multiple redundant win lines.
