Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Temur stompy and combo list built around Animar, Soul of Elements. The primary game plan uses cheap mana dorks to deploy Animar on turn 2, quickly accumulating +1/+1 counters through low-cost creatures and counter enhancers like Hardened Scales and Kami of Whispered Hopes. By turn 4, Animar's cost reduction enables the deck to cast massive colorless threats—including Eldrazi titans like Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger, Kozilek, Butcher of Truth, and Blightsteel Colossus—for near-zero mana. The deck also harbors a clean infinite combo with Ancestral Statue, generating infinite counters on Animar whenever the commander has at least 4 counters. Supported by countermagic like Fierce Guardianship and Animar's natural protection from white and black, the deck transitions swiftly from an explosive mana engine into an unstoppable combat juggernaut.
