Emet Selch

Format: Commander

Commander: Emet-Selch of the Third Seat

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Dimir graveyard value deck uses Emet-Selch of the Third Seat as a discount and flashback engine. You fill the graveyard with surveil, mill and looting, then trigger the commander by making opponents lose life with Scrawling Crawler, Underworld Dreams, Syr Konrad and Sephiroth triggers to recast an instant or sorcery for free each turn. Secondary paths reanimate boards with Rise of the Dark Realms and Breach the Multiverse, or grind with Bolas's Citadel and Gwenom playing off the top with life. The hidden commander is Bolas's Citadel/Syr Konrad, which provide independent win engines. Hullbreaker Horror plus Sol Ring makes infinite mana and bounces but has no direct outlet, so wins come from drain, Gray Merchant loops and combat.
