Deck overview

This Dimir deck is built around Taskmaster, Mercenary Mimic at the head of a Villain typal combat and value strategy. The game plan focuses on establishing early Villain creatures, utilizing connive mechanics to sculpt hands while filling the graveyard, and casting Taskmaster to copy the strongest creature on the battlefield or in any graveyard at the start of each first main phase. As the board develops, lords like The Masters of Evil and token engines like Minotaur, Roxxon CEO transform modest board states into evasive, menace-heavy attacking waves. The deck supplements its combat pressure with incremental life loss triggers from Crossbones, Malicious Mercenary and Doom Reigns Supreme. While the strategy exhibits robust midrange recovery through recursive spells and flexible mimicry, its clock is fair and relies on surviving through multiple opponent combat cycles without dedicated stax or explosive combo finishes.
