Volo by user6064368

Format: Commander

Commander: Volo, Itinerant Scholar and Master Chef

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Volo, Itinerant Scholar and Master Chef form a Simic value engine. The commander creates Volo's Journal, which rewards casting creatures with different creature types, while Master Chef makes every creature a +1/+1 counter payload. The primary plan is to stock Journal notes, double draws with Teferi's Ageless Insight or Alhammarret's Archive, and then convert the burst into Twenty-Toed Toad, Laboratory Maniac, or Psychosis Crawler. Combat is a solid secondary path: Hardened Scales effects grow an unblockable board led by Champion of Lambholt and finished by End-Raze Forerunners. Volo, Guide to Monsters is the hidden commander in the 99, copying the most important creature spells while the main Volo uses those casts to fuel the Journal.
