Hylda Tappers by MrollKneeto

Format: Commander

Commander: Hylda of the Icy Crown

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is an Azorius tap-control midrange deck built around Hylda of the Icy Crown. The plan is to repeatedly tap opponents' creatures with a dense suite of activated tappers, instants, and engine permanents, then pay Hylda of the Icy Crown's trigger tax for 4/4 Elemental tokens, team-wide +1/+1 counters, or card selection. Board lockdown pieces like Opposition, Citadel Siege, and stun-counter enablers freeze opposing combat while the Elemental army and pump modes close through damage. Secondary finishers include Sunblast Angel and Split Up capitalizing on tapped boards, Mjolnir, Storm Hammer converting freezes into direct damage, and Willbreaker turning targeted tap spells into theft. The deck is grindy rather than combo-oriented, leveraging Hylda as a repeatable value engine rather than a single combo piece.
