Deck overview

Wolverine, Fierce Fighter commands an aggressive Gruul combat and fight-midrange deck designed to eliminate opponents through rapid power scaling and resilient creature pressure. The deck uses a dense 1–2 CMC ramp package to cast Wolverine ahead of curve on Turn 4, immediately leveraging his haste and enter-the-battlefield fight ability to remove key opposing utility creatures. Wolverine’s damage-healing replacement effect ensures he survives heavy combat trades and non-lethal damage spells with ease. The strategy accelerates on Turn 5 through power doublers, +1/+1 counter engines, and damage multipliers like Xenagos, God of Revels, Halana and Alena, Partners, and Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar. A robust suite of low-cost instant-speed protection spells defends threats against opposing removal and sweepers. Additionally, the deck contains an infinite combat combo in Aggravated Assault and Bear Umbra as a deterministic alternative to standard combat damage.
