Deck overview

This deck is a Temur Spellslinger strategy commanded by Iroh, Grand Lotus, designed to exploit the Lesson mechanic and graveyard flashback synergies. By utilizing early 1–2 CMC ramp and cost reducers like Goblin Electromancer and Stormcatch Mentor, the deck rapidly establishes mana acceleration and fills the graveyard with cheap Lessons and utility spells. Once Iroh enters the battlefield, every Lesson gains flashback for {1}, effectively converting the graveyard into an expansive secondary hand. The deck transitions from resource accumulation to critical onset on Turn 6, pairing Iroh with explosive Magecraft engines such as Storm-Kiln Artist, Archmage Emeritus, and Thousand-Year Storm. Chaining cheap cantrips, rituals, and flashbacked Lessons fuels massive storm counts, allowing the deck to close the game on that same turn via Grapeshot or repeated burn triggers from Guttersnipe and Longshot, Rebel Bowman. Robust flashback protection through Octopus Form and Redirect Lightning defends the combo, while redundant engines ensure strong resilience against disruption.
