Y'shtola, Night's Blessed is the engine of an Esper drain-control deck that turns noncreature spells into life loss. The primary plan is to land Y'shtola on turn three, then repeatedly cast mana value 3+ instants, sorceries, and enchantments to drain all opponents while the end-step draw trigger refills the hand. The fastest kill is Exquisite Blood plus Marauding Blight-Priest: once Y'shtola or Sheoldred makes an opponent lose life, the pair drains the table infinitely. Bloodchief Ascension with Mindcrank offers a backup mill-drain loop, while Approach of the Second Sun and a large Torment of Hailfire close longer games. Tutors, cost reducers, and Smothering Tithe keep assembly fast.
