4. Fire Lord Azula by Orktaku

Format: Commander

Commander: Fire Lord Azula

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Grixis spell-slinger/combat hybrid built entirely around Fire Lord Azula's copying ability. The plan is to attack with Azula, use her Firebending 2 to generate {R}{R} during combat, then cast pump spells and instants that she copies - turning a single Unleash Fury or Bulk Up into a doubled, then quadrupled, combat trick. Relentless Assault chains extra combats off the firebending mana, while Ashling, Flame Dancer provides a magecraft-based drain that hits all three opponents at once. A dense package of Firebending creatures (Firebending Student, Fire Sages, Sozin's Comet) supercharges the mana engine, and flashback lines via Past in Flames and Invoke Calamity let the deck re-cast its copied spells. The primary win is overwhelming combat damage from a copied-pump Azula; the secondary is Ashling's repeatable 2-damage-to-each-opponent trigger.
