Deck overview

This mono-black Aristocrats deck is led by Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker, an engine commander that resurrects any creature with power 1 or less that died under your control at the beginning of each player's end step. By combining cheap 1-power creatures with sacrifice outlets, the deck generates compounding card advantage, board control, and life drain on every turn of the table rotation. Key lock pieces like Burglar Rat strip opponents' hands down to nothing within one or two turn cycles, while Grave Pact and Bone Shredder maintain complete creature suppression. Win conditions rely on stacking drain triggers from Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Marionette Apprentice, and Syr Konrad, the Grim to rapidly deplete opposing life totals without needing infinite combos. While the strategy is resilient against traditional combat decks, it depends heavily on keeping Shirei alive and is sensitive to targeted removal and graveyard exile.
