Deck overview

This Golgari deck leverages Shelob, Child of Ungoliant to lead a defensive Spider tribal and Food synergy engine. The strategy accelerates through green ramp on early turns to deploy Shelob by turn 5. Once on the battlefield, Shelob transforms every spider into a lethal combat blocker with deathtouch and ward 2. The deck uses cheap bite spells like Ram Through and Bite Down to eliminate enemy commanders and steal them as token Food copies that retain their printed abilities. Token amplifiers like Peregrin Took, Academy Manufactor, and Mirkwood Bats convert these stolen permanents into life-drain bursts and card advantage. The deck finishes games by boosting its spider army with Night of the Sweets' Revenge, Nissa, Ascended Animist, or Return of the Wildspeaker, or by draining opponents out using Rotwidow Pack and Ishkanah, Grafwidow.
