Deck overview

This Golgari deck centers on Ygra, Eater of All, turning all other creatures into Food artifacts and capitalizing on their deaths to grow Ygra into a lethal Voltron threat while draining opponents through aristocrat payoffs. Early turns focus on mana acceleration with cards like Llanowar Elves and Kodama's Reach, alongside token generators such as Vinereap Mentor and Bushy Bodyguard. Once Ygra enters on Turn 4 or 5, any dying creature or sacrificed Food provides two +1/+1 counters, swiftly scaling the commander into double-digit power. The deck combines combat pressure—augmented by Whispersilk Cloak and Rancor—with life drain engines like Bastion of Remembrance and Zulaport Cutthroat. A powerful three-piece synergy exists with Experimental Confectioner and Viscera Seer, infinitely growing Ygra and filtering the library. Supported backup plans include token swarms via The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl and asymmetric board wipes like Find // Finality.
