Deck overview

This is a Golgari lifegain-and-counters deck built around Blech, Loafing Pest. Blech converts every life-gain trigger into a +1/+1 counter on each Pest, Bat, Insect, Snake, and Spider you control, turning incidental drains, lifelink hits, and token death triggers into a growing, evasive board. The deck layers three overlapping engines: life-gain payoffs (Sanguine Bond, Dina, Soul Steeper, South Wind Avatar, Hooded Blightfang), token generation (Beledros Witherbloom, Blight Mound, Eccentric Pestfinder, Hornet Nest), and graveyard recursion (Whip of Erebos, Virtue of Persistence, Cauldron of Essence, Moseo, Vein's New Dean). It wins by grinding the table down - each point of life gained becomes damage and counters - and closes with a lethal Exsanguinate. Its only infinite is the persist loop: Persistent Constrictor + Phyrexian Altar + Gorma, the Gullet produces infinite colored mana to fuel the X-spell, with Vampiric Tutor and Demonic Tutor as the deck's only search.
