Deck overview

This Orzhov deck combines Angel tribal combat with an Aristocrats reanimation engine led by Shilgengar, Sire of Famine. In the opening turns, the deck develops mana rocks and curve-filler Angels while cycling or pitching high-toughness threats like Angel of the Ruins and Angel of Suffering into the graveyard. Once Shilgengar enters on Turn 5, it sacrifices high-toughness Angels for zero mana to generate large volumes of Blood tokens. On Turn 6, Shilgengar spends three mana and six Blood tokens to return all creatures from the graveyard to the battlefield as Vampires. Drain engines such as Mirkwood Bats and Marionette Apprentice convert these token creations and sacrifices into direct table-wide life loss, while lord effects like Lyra Dawnbringer turn the reanimated aerial army into a lethal clock over two combat turns. Robust spot removal and Eerie Interlude protect the board while resetting finality counters.
