Deck overview

This Izzet deck is built around Tony Stark // The Invincible Iron Man, operating as an explosive Voltron and artifact-cheating strategy. In the early game, Tony Stark provides reliable card selection by digging four cards deep to find key artifacts. By turn 5, the deck generates the six mana ({4}{U}{R}) required to transform Tony into The Invincible Iron Man, an evasive 5/5 flying creature with haste. At the beginning of combat, Iron Man cheats massive Equipment or high-cost artifacts directly from hand onto the battlefield attached to him, bypassing mana and equip costs. Devastating payloads like Excalibur, Sword of Eden, Aettir and Priwen, Genji Glove, and Portal to Phyrexia instantly create lethal commander damage clocks or asymmetric board destruction. Efficient countermagic like Fierce Guardianship and protective gear like Hammer of Nazahn defend the commander while he eliminates opponents across successive combat phases.
