Deck overview

This deck is a Naya midrange archetype built around Toph, the First Metalbender, blending land animation, artifact synergy, and landfall value. Toph turns all nontoken artifacts into lands and turns lands into recurring 0/0 creatures with +1/+1 counters via the earthbend mechanic. The strategy ramps early with mana rocks and land tutors, deploys Toph on turn 4, and compounds board presence through landfall engines like Omnath, Locus of Rage, Rampaging Baloths, and The Earth King. Board wipes such as Planar Cleansing and Planar Outburst serve as asymmetric power plays, destroying nonland creatures and nonland permanents while leaving your animated lands and artifact lands intact or returning earthbent lands tapped to the battlefield. Combat steps are powered by evasive enablers like Badgermole and mass land animation from Sylvan Awakening. While resilient to generic destruction thanks to earthbend's recursion trigger, the deck depends on combat damage and lacks stack interaction.
