Deck overview

This mono-black deck is an archetype-classic Zombie Tribal and Aristocrats build helmed by Ghoulcaller Gisa. The central game plan focuses on establishing early Zombie board presence, accelerating into Gisa, and using her activated ability to convert high-power or recurring creatures into massive armies of 2/2 Zombie tokens. The deck amplifies this token wave using a dense suite of tribal lords such as Undead Warchief, Death Baron, and Cemetery Reaper, granting anthem buffs, deathtouch, and menace. Concurrently, aristocrat payoffs including Ayara, First of Locthwain, Vengeful Dead, and Mirkwood Bats punish opponents for attempting board wipes or chump blocking, while Gray Merchant of Asphodel provides massive life-drain swings based on high black devotion. The deck operates smoothly on curve with reliable basic mana and graveyard recursion, though it suffers from limited protection for its commander and vulnerability to sweepers.
