Karumonix, the Rat King leads a mono-black rat-tribal deck that blends a swarm of creatures with a poison/infect sub-theme. The commander's ETB digs through five cards to put any rats directly into hand, providing a reliable card-advantage engine in the command zone. The primary game plan is to deploy a wide board of rats - using Rat Colony, Pack Rat, Lord Skitter, Sewer King and Marrow-Gnawer - then push through damage with evasion and overwhelm opponents via combat damage or accumulating poison counters. Proliferation effects (Karn's Bastion, Spread the Sickness, Grim Affliction) accelerate poison counts to the ten-counter kill. A few reanimation spells and Grave Pact-style edicts add staying power, but the deck is highly linear and depends on its commander to refuel its hand.
