Deck overview

This Izzet spellslinger deck is helmed by Rootha, Mastering the Moment, a commander who rewards you for casting instants and sorceries by creating a scaling flying token each combat. The primary game plan is to chain cheap spells, cost reducers, and copy effects to generate a massive board of token creatures, then finish through overwhelming combat damage. Key enablers like Archmage Emeritus, Storm-Kiln Artist, and Galazeth Prismari provide relentless card advantage and mana acceleration. The deck leans heavily on its commander's token generation, supplemented by Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer, Determined Iteration, and Redoubled Stormsinger to multiply the army. Win conditions include Surge to Victory to pump the team and copy a key spell, Expropriate for extra turns and permanent theft, or simply accumulating a wide enough board to swing for lethal. The strategy is tempo-oriented, aiming to control the board through a modest suite of counterspells and removal while building an unstoppable token swarm.
