Merfolk by liamxavier

Format: Commander

Commander: Namor the Sub-Mariner

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Namor the Sub-Mariner leads a mono-blue Merfolk value-tribal deck that turns every blue noncreature spell into a growing swarm of 1/1 Merfolk. The primary plan is to draw heavily, produce tokens, and win through islandwalk/flying lords; a secondary extra-turn line uses Deeproot Pilgrimage and Wanderwine Prophets to take the game once the board stalls. Namor is the main token engine, but Emperor Mihail II, Deeproot Waters, and Deeproot Pilgrimage provide independent engines. Namor, Scourge of the Seas acts as a hidden second copy that upgrades +1/+1-counter Merfolk with flying and connive. The interaction suite is unusually deep for a tribal deck, with thirteen counterspells plus bounce/steal effects, while the low land count and reliance on artifact ramp remain the deck's main liabilities.
