Deck overview

This Gruul deck pairs Baeloth Barrityl, Entertainer with Raised by Giants to execute a forced-combat stax plan. The deck accelerates in the opening turns using efficient 1- and 2-CMC mana ramp to cast Baeloth on Turn 4 and Raised by Giants on Turn 5. With Raised by Giants active, Baeloth becomes a 10/10 Giant, automatically goading all opposing creatures with power 9 or less. This establishes a continuous asymmetric combat lock: opponents must attack one another every combat, which strips potential blockers and drains life totals across the table while producing Treasure tokens when goaded creatures die. A dense suite of 1-mana protection spells, such as Tamiyo's Safekeeping and Gaea's Gift, shields Baeloth from opposing spot removal. Finishers like Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar, Chandra's Ignition, and Unnatural Growth accelerate the clock to eliminate the table by Turn 8.
