Deck overview

This deck is a Mardu Spite and Aikido control strategy helmed by Extus, Oriq Overlord // Awaken the Blood Avatar. Rather than relying solely on commander casting, the deck turns opponents' aggression and symmetric mass damage into lethal win conditions. It establishes early board presence with damage-reflecting creatures such as Boros Reckoner, Brash Taunter, Ill-Tempered Loner, and Spiteful Sliver, or global damage amplifiers like Repercussion and Fiery Emancipation. Once assembled, it resolves massive symmetric burn spells like Blasphemous Act, Star of Extinction, or Chain Reaction, converting 13 to 20 creature damage into direct player damage. It backs up this strategy with aikido combat blowouts like Inkshield, Deflecting Palm, and Comeuppance, while utilizing Awaken the Blood Avatar to apply continuous edict pressure and close out remaining life totals.
