Deck overview

This deck is a high-power mono-green stompy list piloted by Surrak, the Hunt Caller. The core game plan focuses on deploying efficient mana ramp on Turns 1 and 2, casting Surrak on Turn 3, and immediately triggering Formidable on Turn 4 by playing massive Hydras and high-power beaters. Surrak grants haste to newly deployed threats, bypassing the traditional summoning sickness bottleneck of green stompy strategies. The deck scales its damage output using counter doublers like Kalonian Hydra, global power amplifiers like Unnatural Growth, and explosive overrun finishes with Craterhoof Behemoth or Finale of Devastation. It also packs a compact infinite mana loop via Kami of Whispered Hopes and Umbral Mantle that feeds Walking Ballista. While resilient against single-target removal thanks to Heroic Intervention and Commander's Plate, the deck relies strictly on combat to close games and possesses minimal interaction against fast non-creature combo strategies.
