Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black punish and combo strategy commanded by Sheoldred, the Apocalypse. The primary game plan accelerates into an early Sheoldred on Turn 3 or 4, weaponizing symmetric draw engines and wheel effects like Dark Deal, Howling Mine, and Seizan, Perverter of Truth to deal heavy damage across the table while padding your life total. The deck transitions into a win on Turns 5 to 6 using massive draw bombs like Peer into the Abyss, library-storm lines with Bolas's Citadel, or the compact infinite drain combo of Exquisite Blood and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose. High-quality creature removal and sweepers like Toxic Deluge keep opposing boards under control, while life-gain recursion cards keep the engine resilient against targeted removal.
