Big Bad Dragon by Truply0212

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Smaug the Impenetrable is the deck's engine and finisher: a hasty, indestructible 8/7 that converts noncombat damage into Treasures. The primary plan is to cast Smaug early with rituals and rocks, point self-damage at him (Blazing Sunsteel, Self-Destruct, Pestilence, Pyrohemia), then turn the resulting Treasure flood into a lethal Torment of Hailfire or Crackle with Power. Secondary lines pressure with hasty Dragon beats from Goldspan Dragon and Smaug the Magnificent, and use Mayhem Devil/Reckless Fireweaver as Treasure-sacrifice pings. There is no true hidden commander; Magda, Brazen Outlaw and the other Smaug legends serve as lieutenant engines.
