Format: Commander

Commander: Y'shtola, Night's Blessed

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Y'shtola, Night's Blessed leads an Esper control and combo deck that leverages noncreature spells to drain opponents, stabilize life totals, and draw cards. The deck stalls aggression using pillowfort pieces like Ghostly Prison and Authority of the Consuls alongside an extensive suite of counterspells and instant-speed removal. Y'shtola weaponizes damage-trigger auras like Curiosity and Helm of the Ghastlord to generate massive card advantage whenever you cast spells with mana value 3 or greater. The primary path to victory is assembling the infinite drain combo of Exquisite Blood with either Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose or Sanguine Bond, or overwhelming the table through Bolas's Citadel.
