Deck overview

This casual mono-red deck is commanded by Hawkeye, Young Avenger, whose static ability adds his power to any noncombat damage you deal to opponents or their permanents. The deck curves through early utility creatures and pingers like Goblin Fireslinger into mid-range flying threats like Shivan Dragon and Smaug the Magnificent. Direct-damage spells such as Lightning Strike, Shock, and Meteor Swarm double as board control and reach, significantly boosted once Hawkeye enters the battlefield. With an accessible mana base of 38 basic Mountains, minimal ramp, and no tutors or infinite combos, the deck plays an honest, straightforward game. It relies on natural card flow smoothed by rummaging spells like Cathartic Reunion to assemble its pieces, steadily chipping away at opposing life totals until burn spells and Dragon combat close out the table.
