Deck overview

This Dimir Zombie tribal deck focuses on creating a resilient swarm of undead creatures and draining opponents through aristocrat death triggers and combat damage. Led by The Scarab God, the list leverages tribal staples such as Gravecrawler, Cryptbreaker, Diregraf Colossus, and Death Baron to build a wide board presence. It finishes games through massive life swings from Gray Merchant of Asphodel, steady bleed from Diregraf Captain and Vengeful Dead, or an overwhelming combat assault buffed by multiple Zombie lords. The deck exhibits a critical structural flaw in its mana base: all 38 lands produce only black mana, leaving only three mana rocks to generate blue mana. Consequently, blue spells and the commander are often stranded in hand. Despite this bottleneck, the deck functions effectively as a mono-black Zombie midrange engine with strong graveyard recursion and respectable resilience against single-target removal.
