Smaug the 1% by xb99

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Magnificent

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

An explosive mono-red Treasure/Dragon deck built around Smaug the Magnificent. Its main plan is to out-tempo with rituals, haste attackers, and multiplicative token payoffs (Goldspan, Xorn, Academy Manufactor), then convert the Treasure pile into one of several redundant wins: Smaug's scaled attack trigger, Hellkite Tyrant's artifact-count trigger, extra-combat loops with Aggravated Assault and Ancient Copper Dragon, or pinger bursts off Brass's Bounty. Smaug is the flexible finisher/removal rather than a combo piece; the deck operates at high speed even if he never resolves. There is no hidden double-faced commander, though There and Back Again provides a second Smaug-shaped Treasure bomb.
