Millennium Calendar by user1228741

Commander: Derevi, Empyrial Tactician

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Bant untap synergy deck helmed by Derevi, Empyrial Tactician with the explicit goal of winning through The Millennium Calendar. The deck leverages Derevi's ability to untap/tap permanents on combat damage as a flexible engine, but the primary game plan revolves around generating massive numbers of time counters each untap step using Seedborn Muse and other untap effects, then doubling them explosively via Rings of Brighthearth, Vorel of the Hull Clade, and copy effects to reach 1,000 counters. The deck is packed with tutors - Enlightened Tutor, Idyllic Tutor, Fabricate, Wargate - to consistently find its key combo pieces, while a solid protection suite of counterspells and phasing effects keeps the combo safe. Alternate win conditions include Walking Ballista as a mana sink and combat damage from Derevi or other creatures, but those are secondary to the calendar-based victory.
