Deck overview

This mono-black deck operates as an Aristocrats Combo-Control strategy centered on attrition, life drain, and infinite combo finishes. In the early turns, it establishes mana velocity and sacrifice engines using cards like Warren Soultrader, Ayara, First of Locthwain, and Yawgmoth, Thran Physician. It controls the board through asymmetric edicts and Grave Pact locks, suffocating creature-based opponents while generating steady card advantage. The deck aims to close games on Turn 7 through an infinite life drain combo pairing Exquisite Blood or Bloodthirsty Conqueror with Sanguine Bond, Enduring Tenacity, or Marauding Blight-Priest, or by overwhelming the table with Bolas's Citadel and massive Gray Merchant of Asphodel swings. The commander, Avacyn, Angel of Horror, serves as an 8-mana late-game recursion engine rather than an early dependency, returning sacrificed nontoken creatures at each end step to grind out prolonged games.
