Deck overview

This deck is a classic mono-red Dragon tribal midrange strategy commanded by Lathliss, Dragon Queen. The game plan focuses on spending the first three turns deploying artifact ramp and tribal cost reducers like Dragonspeaker Shaman and Dragon's Hoard. Once mana is established, the deck casts Lathliss on Turn 5 and follows up with large Dragon threats that trigger Lathliss to create complementary 5/5 flying Dragon tokens. Payoffs such as Dragon Tempest, Scourge of Valkas, and Utvara Hellkite turn every Dragon deployment into immediate burn damage and exponential board expansion. The deck excels at overpowering conventional creature defenses with massive flying beaters and mass damage sweepers like Blasphemous Act and Breath Weapon. Its primary weaknesses stem from high mana costs, vulnerability to board wipes, and a lack of stack interaction, making it dependent on proactive board presence to close games by Turns 7–8.
