Deck overview

Grixis amass deck built around Sauron, the Dark Lord. It builds a large Orc Army with amass spells, uses Ring tempt triggers to grow Wraiths (Nazgul) and to turn Sauron's hand into four fresh cards. Sauron is both the card-advantage engine and a Ward-protected beater; the 99 includes a second Sauron (Sauron, the Lidless Eye) as a steal-and-pump payoff. The deck wins through overwhelming combat: a counters-heavy Army with trample, then a double-strike Assault on Osgiliath turn or triple-damage Isengard Unleashed. Removal, discard, and one counterspell keep the path open, while The One Ring, Call of the Ring, and multiple Nazgul compound the Ring tempts.
