Commander: Kaalia of the Vast

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a classic Kaalia cheat-and-combat deck. The primary plan is to ramp into Kaalia of the Vast, swing, and flip an Angel, Demon, or Dragon from hand into play tapped and attacking, effectively cheating several mana worth of threat. Secondary paths lean on Sneak Attack and on the extra-combat combos of Aggravated Assault with Ancient Copper Dragon, or Aurelia with Helm of the Host, to chain combat steps and close out all opponents. Kaalia is the engine, but the deck can also hard-cast or Sneak Attack; there is no hidden commander. A tutor package finds the combo pieces, while protection like Greaves, Mother of Runes, Avacyn, and Teferi's Protection keeps the key attack alive.
