Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan Mutate Reanimator deck led by Nethroi, Apex of Death. The primary strategy focuses on ramping mana in the opening turns, filling the graveyard through self-mill and sacrifice outlets, and deploying cheap non-Human creatures as mutate hosts. Once seven mana is available, casting Nethroi, Apex of Death for its mutate cost returns up to 10 total power of creatures directly from the graveyard to the battlefield. Key reanimation targets such as Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Syr Konrad, the Grim, and Sun Titan create an immediate life swing and overwhelming board presence. The deck applies lethal pressure through wide combat attacks backed by aristocrat drain effects from Zulaport Cutthroat and Woe Strider. While the deck features an extensive instant-speed removal package to disrupt opponents, it lacks proactive stack protection and dedicated high-speed tutors, relying instead on high card density and resilient multi-card graveyard recursion to close out games by Turn 8.
