Deck overview

This deck is a specialized mono-red burn and pseudo-storm strategy built around 24 copies of Dragon's Approach and commanded by Longshot, Rebel Bowman. Longshot acts as both a reliable cost reducer, shaving {1} off every noncreature spell, and an aggressive damage amplifier by pinging each opponent for 2 damage per cast. This effectively turns every 2-mana Approach into a 5-damage burn spell to each opponent. The deck leverages high spell velocity via red discard-draw spells to feed the graveyard, enabling Approach's tutor clause to cheat decisive dragons like Knollspine Dragon, Twinflame Tyrant, or Balefire Dragon straight onto the battlefield. While exceptionally proactive and capable of closing games rapidly across turns 5 and 6, the deck commits heavily to its own engine, running sparse interactive protection and remaining vulnerable to targeted commander removal and graveyard hate.
